We welcome volunteers in our school. There are a number of different ways by which you can volunteer your time at Sonning Primary. If you would like to volunteer, please contact our school office (spsadmin@sonning.wokingham.sch.uk).

Volunteering your time in class

We often require volunteers to hear pupils read, complete admin tasks or support us around the school. 

Skilled role voluntary work 

If you are an ex-teacher or teaching assistant and would like to volunteer your time to support us with aspects of our academic work with pupils such as leading phonics groups or maths interventions, we would welcome your support. 

Similarly, if you are a gardener, maintenance person or ex-premises manager and would like to offer support in maintaining our grounds, including tasks as simple as weeding, we would be interested to hear from you.

Business 'volunteer days'

Many businesses offer team volunteer days, where employees can go and support a local cause. We are always keen to work with local businesses who could support us with projects. 

DBS and other checks before volunteering
