ENGLISH Teaching children to love language and to develop skills to communicate effectively is at the heart of our English teaching. Children are given opportunities to read for pleasure and to develop skills to understand a wide range of challenging texts. They are taught to write for different audiences and purposes and express themselves creatively. MATHEMATICS We take a mastery approach to maths, aiming for children not only to be numerate but to be able to solve problems and understand links between different areas of the subject. SCIENCE Enquiry and investigation is at the heart of all our learning in science. Children develop a range of skills to answer questions about living things and the world around them. RELIGIOUS EDUCATION As a church school, learning about and from different faiths is key. We do this by asking the children to answer big questions, developing their understanding of themselves and others. COMPUTING Children are taught a range of skills to think creatively, solve problems in a digital environment as well as using technology safely to enhance their understanding and presentation of other subjects.
